Cruise Update – Day at Sea

DAY AT SEA!

After a non-stop day in St. Thomas, I will be looking forward to a relaxing day at sea on the Carnival Victory.

We have no plans for the day – I think we will just go with the flow – roll with the tide (remind me to take sea sick medicine, all this rolling and flowing is making me sick).

I would like to awaken early and watch the sun rise over the islands but I have to be honest – I might catch a glimpse through my balcony door if my husband rustles me awake enough!  No matter – it’s vacation!

An early morning walk around the deck sounds lovely though – gotta work up an appetite for one of those buffet breakfasts!  With 24-hour rooms service, breakfast in bed sounds awfully tempting too.

On my way past the pool, I think I’ll drop a towel on a lounge chair or two in the Serenity Adult Retreat.  I understand you have to “reserve” a space by the pool as chairs go fast.

As with all Carnival ships, there are a plethora of activities to keep kids of all ages entertained; ping-pong, basketball, deck parties, and organized games.  For those of us concerned about maintaining our girlish figures, there are fitness classes and equipment too.  I might try a yoga class – or not.  After all, I’ve got to save my energy for the evening activities!

I am not a gambler, but my husband likes to play the tables once in a while and Carnival has some tournaments he will be interested in.  I’m sure we will find ourselves in the casino for at least part of the evening.

Since we are traveling with an 8 and 14 year old, we might opt for a family-friendly movie at the Sea Side Theater or take in a show.  So many choices…

One thing is for sure, with so many options, there is no reason we should not have a great time during our day at sea!

NEST STOP – BARBADOS

P.S.  Did I mention that my friends at CruiseOne our running a great book-now, pay-later special?  What a great opportunity to take advantage of Early Saver rates and book a choice stateroom for your next FunShip getaway.
