Up the Face of 50

In 365 days, I’ll turn 50.

Beginning today, I will chronicle my final climb up the face of 50.  Each week I will write a small post about my ascent.

Today, I’m balancing upon a small ledge, taking some time to appreciate the view back down the hill and assess my approach to the summit.

I’m in a good position.  I’ve got good gear, an excellent belayer, and a couple of good lead climbers out ahead of me.   The crux is behind me – child rearing, career building, etc.  From here, the grade is less steep but will be no less exhilarating.

So, strap on a harness and come along on my climb up the face of 50.

What are my plans for this first week?

Heading out today to take care of some Christmas shopping.  My annual GYN appointment is tomorrow.  Going for an eye examination this week.  Cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my small immediate family and hoping I get some time to write.

Happy Thanksgiving!
